Why we do this Work
We believe that the future of Hermosa depends on maintaining a healthy balance between community life and the natural environment.
The forests, wetlands, ocean, and shared spaces that define this place are not only part of its beauty — they are essential to collective well-being, the local economy, and the long-term public good.
Our work is guided by a vision of a Hermosa where development happens in harmony with nature and where a diverse, organized community takes responsibility for protecting the territory it shares. We believe that growth should benefit the whole community, not just a few, and that environmental protection is a fundamental condition for a thriving place to live.
This commitment is rooted in a culture of respectful coexistence — between neighbors, visitors, and the natural systems that sustain life here. It means promoting inclusive development, protecting ecosystems and public spaces, and encouraging both personal and collective responsibility for the impact we have on our environment.
By working together with residents, institutions, and partners, we aim to help Hermosa grow in a way that preserves its natural character, strengthens its community, and safeguards the territory for future generations.

Our work is guided by three main areas of action
Sustainability
Protect, maintain, and restore Hermosa’s coastal forests, wetlands, and protected marine and terrestrial areas that face pressure from development, misuse, or neglect.
This includes initiatives such as monitoring and defending Patrimonio Natural del Estado (PNE) lands, supporting the protection and restoration of the San Martín Wetland, promoting conservation of coastal forests and wildlife corridors, and raising community awareness about the responsible use of beaches and natural ecosystems.
Community
Strengthen Hermosa’s social fabric through participation, shared values, and a collective vision for community life and sustainability. This work takes shape through the creation of spaces for gathering and collaboration, such as the development of a Community Center, community assemblies and consultations, cultural and educational gatherings that celebrate Hermosa’s identity, and initiatives that foster intercultural integration among residents.
Shared Spaces
Create, rehabilitate, and steward shared public spaces and services — natural or built, on land, water, or air — that support community well-being, social equity, economic vitality, and cultural integration. This includes projects that improve responsible beach access and…

Working together
ACH works in collaboration with a wide network of partners who share a commitment to the long-term well-being of Hermosa. Our projects bring together community members, public institutions, technical experts, nonprofits, and responsible businesses.
These partnerships allow us to combine local knowledge, technical capacity, and institutional support to develop solutions that protect the territory while strengthening the community.
